To protect pumphead - manifold is it highly recommended to mount a double adapter like this in the pumphead - manifold to avoid expencive damage, if you mount the gland nut of the hose direct in the head - manifold and it seeze-up it cost a lot for replacement, if you use this adpater with union ( 195-103 ) and the union is seezed-up, you only have to replance the union. (see attached picture of a Falch® pump head)
